Our client is a leading Insurance Group and employer of choice. They are currently going through a number of exciting growth initiatives including an acquisition and integration as well as a major transformation. 

Due to this growth they have an excellent newly created opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their high calibre finance team.

Reporting into the Senior Manager, Financial Control your role will be a broad end to end role encompassing financial control, statutory reporting, regulatory reporting and various project and process improvement activities. Key deliverables will include:

  • Manage the monthly group reporting general ledger close in accordance with the group timetable, including completion of all group quarterly reporting requirements
  • Preparation of statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables
  • Respond to queries from internal stakeholders and external auditors
  • Prepare audit work paper files and notes for annual statutory reporting, including completion of Group Reporting
  • Review, calculate, prepare, and process journals to reflect the correct month end position
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and investigate and follow up on variances
  • Contribute to a diverse range of projects, specifically as it pertains to Financial Reporting and Accounting
  • Find and implement process efficiency's and improvement, i.e. efficient month and year end close and reporting processes, system improvements, etc.
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders 

Key Skills and experience required:

  • CA/CPA qualified with 3 years post qualified experience in a financial, statutory or regulatory reporting role
  • Experience within a large complex financial services group (insurance experience preferred)
  • Strong grasp of accounting standards and reporting
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong financial control and month end experience
