A government-funded organisation is undertaking a major review of its audit process to improve how services delivered by external providers are monitored and assessed. As part of this project, we’re seeking an experienced Data Scientist to lead the development of a fit-for-purpose, risk-based audit framework.

This is a rare opportunity to deliver meaningful, high-impact work that will influence policy, service quality, and public outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyse and review the current audit framework and associated data
• Design a comprehensive, risk-based model for audit selection
• Identify key data inputs needed to implement this model in a new grants management system
• Prepare a report outlining the framework, methodology, and implementation recommendation

About you:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline
• Strong background in data analysis, risk modelling, and statistical techniques
• Experience with data governance, machine learning, or compliance analytics
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly
• Prior exposure to risk, compliance, or audit environments is desirable
