General Counsel (Commodity Trading Firm)

The Role:
Our client is a Singapore-Headquartered Commodity Trading Firm. They are looking to hire an experienced energy/O&G trading lawyer legal professional as General Counsel. As the pioneer legal hire, the successful candidate will work closely with the Founder and Traders on all legal matters.

Requirements:

Degree in law (LLB) from a Singapore or reputable overseas university; called to the Singapore bar or Common Law.
Minimum of 8 -12 years post-qualification experience in a law firm or as a legal counsel with industry-relevant experience (in an oil, energy, and/or commodities company).
Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments such as operations, traders, trade finance, and shipping.
Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Comfortable working collaboratively and independently.
