Adventist HealthCare Limited (AHCL) is one of Australia's most highly regarded private providers of acute healthcare. As a large Christian based organisation, they operate several businesses including the Sydney Adventist Hospital, the San Day Surgery Hornsby, San Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, and the Sydney Adventist Hospital Pharmacy. Since opening in 1903, the Sydney Adventist Hospital has grown to become the largest private hospital in NSW with over 700 beds. They provide a comprehensive range of acute surgical, medical and obstetric care, ground-breaking heart services, orthopaedic, neuro, private emergency care, integrated cancer and allied health services. As a not-for-profit organisation, their purpose is to benefit the community with all proceeds reinvested back into services and facilities.
AHCL is led by an experienced Board and CEO and an established Executive team. Due to recent changes, they are now seeking their next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO is a key leadership position within AHCL, responsible for driving all aspects of organisational finance, and with the executive team a key contributor to strategic and growth initiatives across the business. The role underpins the continued success of all aspects of AHCL’s business and interfaces at an operational and strategic level across the entire organisation.
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will:
Partner with the CEO, Executive Team and Board to provide clear strategic financial insight, support evidence-based decisions and strengthen organisational performance.
Provide executive leadership across all aspects of finance, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, capital management.
Lead AHCL’s financial strategy, planning and performance agenda to support long-term sustainability, operating margin improvement and service growth.
Maintain robust financial governance, risk management, compliance and internal control frameworks aligned with legislative and accounting standards.
Partner with the clinical, operational and medical teams, supporting the development and delivery of AHCL strategic priorities.
We are seeking a proven executive, CA or CPA, with advanced financial leadership skills developed within a complex private healthcare or hospital environment. With strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, treasury, risk management and corporate governance, you will understand the financial and operational drivers of the private healthcare sector and demonstrate a track record of leading high-performing finance teams. You will be a trusted adviser and communicator, able to build credible relationships across executive, clinical and Board stakeholders and translate financial insight into clear decision making.
