Apply: Senior Finance Manager, IFRS 17

Our client is a prominent global general insurance group with a rapidly growing presence in the Australia and NZ region.  Due to this growth they have a newly created permanent opportunity within their high performing finance function to lead the implementation of IFRS 17 and then the subsequent business as usual IFRS 17 reporting function.

Reporting to the CFO you will focus on:

  • Manage IFRS 17 project timeline to ensure appropriate Financial Reporting systems and processes are designed, mapped, tested and implemented.
  • Apply in-depth IFRS 17 knowledge to review end to end information flow, manage change activities required with business operations to enhance ledger closing and financial reporting
  • Lead UAT and dry run results: resolve issues, data defects/limitations on a timely basis by actively working with both project and BAU team.
  • Comply with both regulatory reporting requirements (opening balance, new disclosure tables etc) and management accounting analytics (establish new KPIs)
  • Establish a bridge between BAU finance and wider IFRS 17 constituents (external consultants, Actuarial, IT, Business profit centres)
  • Support ad-hoc projects relating to insurance business initiatives and compliance matters
  • Provide comprehensive knowledge sharing with clarity and effectiveness

Required skills and experience:

  • CPA/CA/CIMA qualifications or equivalent
  • Deep insurance accounting experience
  • In-depth IFRS 17 knowledge with implementation experience preferred
  • Ability to distill complexity into clear and actionable insights
  • A proactive, energetic and articulate style to manage projects and stakeholders
