Our client is a leading insurance company and employer of choice with a superb brand in the market who are going through an exciting phase of growth.

They have an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced financial accountant/senior financial accountant with an insurance background to join their financial control team in a role which covers both BAU and extensive project and process improvement activities. 

Reporting into the Financial Controller you will focus on:
  • Proactively take part in and look for opportunities for process simplification and optimisation; continuously assess opportunities for efficiencies & improvements in the team’s processes and support those activities
  • Own the financial control process including month end journals for all companies within the group
  • Analyse and challenge information recorded in the general ledger to ensure that the balance sheets for each entity, company and the Group as a whole, are complete, accurate, transparent and supported
  • Collaborate with the performance management, reinsurance, tax and actuarial teams to ensure completeness, accuracy, transparency and understanding of the monthly result of each entity
  • Actively consult on the accounting for new & complex transactions and business developments; liaising with other finance teams (reporting, tax, actuarial, reinsurance) as well as other parts of the business
  • Set up and design of new financial control processes following integration of recent acquisition

Required skills and experience:
  • CA/CPA qualified 
  • Minimum 3-5 years post qualified experience in a financial accounting and control position
  • Experience within the insurance industry (preferred)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (including at senior levels)
  • Proven track record of process automation and improvement
